When making Pinwheel, Four Patch, Kaleidoscope, and Le Moyne Star blocks, intersecting seams can create quite a bit of bulk. By removing a few stitches before that final press, you can create a little ease at the center, allowing the seams to spin and distribute the fabric for flatter, even blocks and smoother quilting. 🙌
💡 This is an alternative to manually twisting the seams once your block is finished. If you’re trying the manual twist technique, practice on a scrap block first to avoid stretching the fabric or skewing your block.
