Foundation Paper Piecing gives you that crisp, precise piecing we love. It might look tricky but with these tips & the Starling fabric collection by Maureen Cracknell, creating bold, dreamy blocks has never been easier!
Here’s The Secret: Sew. Press. Flip. Trim. Repeat!
1. Grab your Starling fabrics + FPP template (we used a New York Beauty variation). Crease all the lines between the numbers. Place the template right side down.
2. Dab a dot of glue behind #1 and place fabric on top, right side up.
Flip over to the right side of the template and fold the paper only on the crease between #1 & 2
3. Trim a ¼” away from the paper’s edge.
4. With the next fabric right side up, place the unit on top aligning edges (fabrics will be right sides touching).
5. Flip over paper only, sew on the line (stitch length 1.3).
6. Open fabrics, press, flip over & repeat for the next section.
