If joining your binding ends makes you want to give up on quilt binding altogether…we’ve got you covered! Our 2.5 Edition Binding hack makes the process sew much easier! Featuring “Starlit Bound” from Starling by Maureen Cracknell!
Just follow these quick steps:
1. Start with the bottom tail and align your binding strip at the top.
2. Place the top tail over it, mark, and trim.
3. Fold & place a clip to release tension.
4. Take the top tail and open the binding, placing right side up.
5. Take the bottom tail, open and turn to the wrong side, place on top of the top tail, right sides touching, matching at the top and side edges.
6. Mark a diagonal line tip to tip (from top left to bottom right) and sew on the line.
7. Trim ¼” from the sewn line and press seam open.
8. Remove clip and reveal our binding ends perfectly joined!
9. Finish the sewing line and turn to the front. Now it’s ready to be machine or hand sewn for a beautifully framed look!
