Hello Makers,
Here at AGF we love that we can offer you precut quilting fabrics that come in a variety of shapes and sizes, that are precision-measured and ready for you to jump right into the sewing process. Without a doubt, pre cut fabrics are a no brainer when it comes to creating quick and easy quilts and are also ideal for the everyday crafter. Choosing precuts gives you the opportunity to explore a whole entire AGF collection without breaking the bank.
What’s your favorite quilting precut? If you are new to AGF precuts, let me introduce you to AGF Fabric Wonders! Select your favorite, Strip Rolls, 10” Squares, or Fat Quarters!
While each precut gives you endless possibilities to create so many different types of finished quilting projects you will end up picking a cut that works best for whatever project you are working on, which will be indicated on the pattern you choose. You can find books dedicated to one single pre cut and pattern makers will purposely design quilt patterns based off of these conveniently precut fabrics.
To celebrate our love for precuts we have three great quilting patterns to share with you for each one of our precuts.
Strip Rolls are handy to have on hand for quilts that require 2 ½” wide piecing. Measuring in at 2 ½” x WOF, its ideal for strip piecing techniques, quilt as you go, string blocks, log cabin quilts, bargello quilts, french braid quilts, sashing strips and so much more. This little roll is so verstitle and should be in every quilters sewing kit for fast and easy piecing.
Beginner quilters look no further! Grab yourself a GeoBloom strip roll and a bit of additional fabric for the backing and you can make the ‘Sprouts’ strip friendly quilt! With the launch of AGF’s GeoBloom collection we released our first strip roll. To celebrate we created a strip roll friendly quilt called “Sprouts”! This 66 ½” x 82 ½” quilt is just the right size to snuggle under as the weather begins to drop. It’s constructed out of 2 ½” squares , 2 ½” x 4 ½” , 2 ½” x 6 ½” and 2 ½” x 8 ½” strips and some sashing between rows. The placemat of the fabrics makes this quilt pleasing to the eyes and is a great option for first time quilters or modern quilt enthusiasts.

10″ Squares are also a great choice when your quilts don’t require long strips or pieces larger then 10″. It’s great for making quick and easy quilting units like half square triangles, hourglass blocks , flying geese and nine patch blocks. Make it super simple and just sew all the 10″ squares together, no cutting required and as easy as that, you will have yourself a patchwork creation!
Grab yourself 2 packs of 10” Square Fabric Wonders from Bonnie Christine’s collection called, ‘A Year in Petals’ and sew up this 52 ½” × 52½” quilt entirely made up of hour glass blocks. I love how great each hour glass block showcases the prints, as it borders around one single solid fabric block in the middle of your quilt creating a spiral effect.
Fat Quarter Bundles are perfect for the everyday quilter and crafter. Measuring in at 18″ x 22″ its a large enough piece of fabric to cut out the majority of quilt shapes to create most quilting units and blocks. Using Fat Quarter pieces allows you to use and showcase more prints throughout your quilt then if you were to buy yardage of fabrics allowing you to keep your fabric waste to a minimum.
The ‘Plenum’ quilt is one of our top made quilts here at AGF and has been seen countless times in many of our Lookbooks. It’s just one of those quilting patterns that looks good with every single fabric collection and who doesn’t need that kind of quilt pattern on their to sew list? The flying geese unit takes center stage in this pattern with alternating geese framed with sashing. This 56 ½” × 65 ½” finished beauty is a great option to pick when working with our fat quarter precuts.
Fabrics used in this quilt are from our latest Halloween collection by AGF Studio called Ghostly & Haunted. All you last min quilters can grab a bundle HERE!
For those of you who love working with different shades of the same color this quilt is definitely a must try. Just pick your favorite color and take a look at our Color Master Element Bundles!
